Very embarrassing and gross period question? I'm 18 so its not like I'm 14 asking something trypical?

***warning: this is gross**** so I've been taking a birth control pill for a little over a year now.Its loestrin 24 of anyone is curious. and this has happened a couple time but it hasnt really bothered me until recently. ok. so i am getting my period... sort of. its not like a "normal" period where you actually need a tampon and its not like spotting. instead the blood comes out gooey and chunky. looks kind of like bloody boogers (i know that sounds so gross).and it lasts normally about a day or two. i know im not pregnant so thats not it. whats up with this? is this normal? is it some kind of infection? whats going on here? why is it so chunky? is it related to my brand of birth control or birth control in general? is there anything i can do to fix this? is anyone a doctor?
